What currency should I bring?
Pakistan uses the Pakistani Rupee (PKR). The easiest option is to bring USD, which can be exchanged almost everywhere at good rates.
Is Pakistan suitable for vegetarians?
Vegetarian meals are available, especially in major towns and areas used to hosting travellers. Just let us know when booking and we’ll make sure your dietary needs are taken into account throughout the trip.
What should I wear while travelling in Pakistan?
Pakistan is generally a conservative country. We advise dressing modestly — long trousers and covered shoulders are best, especially in rural regions and religious sites.
Do I need a visa?
Yes. Pakistan requires an e-visa for most nationalities. Beyond the Borders will provide full visa assistance, including the documents and simple instructions needed to complete the online e-visa application.
What is the accommodation like?
You can expect a mix of comfortable hotels, guesthouses and local stays depending on the region. If you prefer a fully private or upgraded accommodation style, just tell us and we can tailor the arrangements.
What is the best time of year to visit Pakistan?
For northern Pakistan, the best time is April–October, when mountain passes are open and weather conditions are ideal for travel and photography. Winter travel is also possible but involves different routes and colder temperatures.
Will altitude be an issue?
Northern Pakistan includes high-altitude destinations such as Khunjerab Pass. While most travellers handle the altitude well, some may feel mild symptoms. Staying hydrated and taking it slow helps.
Is photography allowed everywhere?
Photography is welcome in most tourist sites and scenic locations. However, avoid photographing military areas, checkpoints, and people without permission. Your guide will let you know when to keep the camera down.
